Struggling to pull myself out of this emotional state.
I’m haunted and crying at just the reality of all of this.
Yesterdays letter really recut this wound that was pretending to heal nicely.
It’s hard for me to express emotion, especially in person to others - I usually end up making a joke which really doesn’t help let others realise how badly this has ruined me.

I was unable to get out of bed today and it was hard to even call my Mum because I knew I would have to speak about it out loud finally for the first time in months. Trying to speak positively is hard when I’m bursting at the seams to get in my car, drive 3 hours just to crawl into a ball and cry my heart out to the comfort of my Mum. (Which I haven’t done once since this happened, but that is all I want.)

I find myself struggling as this all becomes a reality again.
It doesn’t help when money, work and this stupid intolerance to dairy becomes an added stress.
I feel so tight, frustrated and worried and I wish I knew how to release and calm myself back to normal.

This photograph was unearthed in 2012 by one of Fairfax Media’s archivists. It belongs to a series of photographs taken by The Sun newspaper photographers documenting the Miss Australia Quest from 1945 to 1948. This photograph has never been published.
